KONFLIK BATIN DAN NILAI PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER DALAM NOVEL UMMI UNTUK GAMAL KARYA AQILA NILA (KAJIAN PSIKOLOGI SASTRA KURT LEWIN)

ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk-bentuk konflik batin yang dialami tokoh utama, Insyira (Sisi), dalam novel Ummi untuk Gamal karya Aqila Nila serta keterkaitannya dengan nilai pendidikan karakter. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan psikologi sastra dengan landasan teori konflik Kurt Lewin yang mengklasifikasikan konflik batin ke dalam tiga jenis, yaitu Konflik pilihan positif–positif (approach–approach conflict), Konflik pilihan negatif–negatif (avoidance–avoidance conflict), dan Konflik pilihan positif–negatif (approach–avoidance conflict). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data baca dan catat. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah novel Ummi untuk Gamal karya Aqila Nila yang diterbitkan oleh CV Firaz Media pada tahun 2024.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ditemukan 54 data konflik batin yang dialami tokoh utama. Konflik batin pilihan positif–positif merupakan jenis konflik yang paling dominan, ditandai dengan dilema antara dua pilihan positif, seperti pertentangan antara cinta pribadi dan kewajiban moral-religius kepada keluarga. Konflik pilihan negatif–negatif muncul ketika tokoh dihadapkan pada dua pilihan yang sama-sama tidak diinginkan dan menuntut pengambilan risiko paling kecil. Sementara itu, Konflik pilihan positif–negatif ditandai oleh ambivalensi tokoh terhadap satu pilihan yang mengandung unsur positif sekaligus negatif. Ketiga jenis konflik tersebut memiliki keterkaitan yang erat dengan nilai pendidikan karakter religius, tanggung jawab, peduli, kerja keras, dan mandiri yang tercermin melalui sikap, pertimbangan, serta keputusan tokoh utama dalam menghadapi berbagai persoalan hidup.
Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa konflik batin dalam novel Ummi untuk Gamal tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai penggerak alur cerita, tetapi juga menjadi sarana pembentukan dan penguatan nilai pendidikan karakter. Novel ini memiliki relevansi sebagai media reflektif dan edukatif yang dapat dimanfaatkan dalam pembelajaran sastra untuk menanamkan nilai-nilai karakter kepada pembaca, khususnya generasi muda.

This study aims to describe the forms of internal conflict experienced by the main character, Insyira (Sisi), in the novel Ummi untuk Gamal by Aqila Nila, as well as their connection to character education values. This study employs a literary psychology approach based on Kurt Lewin's conflict theory, which classifies internal conflict into three types: approach–approach conflict, avoidance–avoidance conflict, and approach–avoidance conflict. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with reading and note-taking data collection techniques. The data source for this research is the novel Ummi untuk Gamal by Aqila Nila, published by CV Firaz Media in 2024.
The results indicate that 54 instances of internal conflict experienced by the main character were identified. Approach–approach conflict is the most dominant type, characterized by a dilemma between two positive choices, such as the conflict between personal love and moral-religious obligation to the family. Avoidance–avoidance conflict arises when the character is faced with two equally undesirable choices, requiring the selection of the least risky option. Meanwhile, approach–avoidance conflict is marked by the character's ambivalence toward a single choice that contains both positive and negative elements. These three types of conflict are closely related to character education values—specifically religiosity, responsibility, care, hard work, and independence—which are reflected through the main character's attitudes, considerations, and decisions in facing various life problems.
Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the internal conflict in the novel Ummi untuk Gamal functions not only as a plot driver but also as a means of forming and strengthening character education values. This novel is relevant as a reflective and educational medium that can be utilized in literature learning to instill character values in readers, particularly the younger generation.
