Abstract

Single Point Mooring (SPM) or what we often call about Single Buoy Mooring (SBM) is a floating buoy
anchored offshore which is a means of mooring a tanker at sea, which also functions as a channel for liquid cargo
such as petroleum products from or to a tanker. It is located a few kilometers from the offshore facility and a
connected using subsea and subsea pipe lines.Due to the critical need for sea transportation in liquid and gaseous
cargo, SPM must be good performance and ready to operate. MRB as the main source of energy is very important,
if there is damage to MRB it will have an impact on decreasing operational productivity. So to prevent damage
to the Main Rotating Bearing (MRB), it is necessary to check the clearance on the bearing every 5 years. To make
it easier to retrieve clearance measurement data, a tool design is made. After the jack load process was carried
out on the MRB with the tools, the result of the clearance measurement was 0.03 mm, while the maximum
clearance measurement according to the SPM maintenance regulation was 0.1 mm. From the results of the
measurement, the clearance is still within the standard limit or stated in good condition.
