Abstract
This study focuses on the film Encanto (2021) and examines how female characters are represented in relation to nature and culture through an ecofeminist perspective. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method and applies ecofeminist theory from Françoise d'Eaubonne, Karen J. Warren, Val Plumwood, and Starhawk. The analysis focuses on five main female characters, Mirabel, Abuela Alma, Isabela, Luisa, and Julieta, and how their magical powers symbolize deeper relationships between women, nature, and cultural expectations. The findings reveal that the film portrays diverse relationships between women, nature, and culture, ranging from compliance with social norms to resistance and transformation. These representations highlight how women’s closeness to nature is not merely symbolic but also demonstrates empathy, care, and the rejection of oppressive cultural structures. This study concludes that women's closeness to nature in Encanto is not merely symbolic but reflects empathy, care, and resistance against oppressive culture. This aligns with the spirit of ecofeminism, which emphasizes justice, sustainability, and harmony between humans and the environment.

Penelitian ini berfokus pada film Encanto (2021) dan menganalisis bagaimana karakter perempuan digambarkan dalam hubungannya dengan alam dan budaya melalui perspektif ekofeminis. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dan menerapkan teori ekofeminis dari Françoise d'Eaubonne, Karen J. Warren, Val Plumwood, dan Starhawk. Analisis berfokus pada lima karakter perempuan utama, Mirabel, Abuela Alma, Isabela, Luisa, dan Julieta, serta bagaimana kekuatan magis mereka melambangkan hubungan yang lebih dalam antara perempuan, alam, dan ekspektasi budaya. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa film ini menggambarkan hubungan yang beragam antara perempuan, alam, dan budaya, mulai dari kepatuhan terhadap norma sosial hingga perlawanan dan transformasi. Representasi ini menyoroti bahwa kedekatan perempuan dengan alam tidak hanya simbolis, tetapi juga menunjukkan empati, kepedulian, dan penolakan terhadap struktur budaya yang menindas. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa kedekatan perempuan dengan alam dalam Encanto tidak hanya simbolis, tetapi mencerminkan empati, kepedulian, dan perlawanan terhadap budaya yang menindas. Hal ini sejalan dengan semangat ekofeminisme, yang menekankan keadilan, keberlanjutan, dan harmoni antara manusia dan lingkungan.
